Interest Groups

If members wish information about a group’s activities during COVID19, please phone or email the listed contact person directly.

There are many activities offered that reflect the needs and interests of our members. If you don’t find one to your liking you may wish to start a new one.

All Swans Interest Groups are self-managed. Members are encouraged and expected to take an active role in helping to keep their chosen activity running smoothly.

Each group has one or more contact person(s), in charge of responding to inquiries, and managing meeting schedules.  Contact name(s) with telephone number, email address(es) will be listed on the website, with added information concerning the day, week number and time of the activity.

If no one agrees to be the Contact, that activity will be removed from the calendar.

Events

Luncheons are held on the fourth Thursday of the month from August to May at the Royal Colwood Golf Club 629 Goldstream Avenue.

There is no luncheon for the months of November and January. The December luncheon is held the first Thursday of December.
Reservations are required by the Thursday before the luncheon and the cost is  $40, payable online (by e transfer) with the reservation or by cheque at the luncheon which begins at 11:30 AM and concludes at 2:00 PM.

Luncheon Speakers Series:

Our Volunteer Programs Committee team works diligently to insure quality, timely and relevant presentations at monthly luncheon meetings. Speakers who are selected by our Program Committee provide members with informative sessions and sometimes humourous presentations.

Speakers have included Politicians, Scientists, Cultural Arts Community Leaders, Entertainers, World Travelers and many others.

We welcome input from members to insure that a wide range of interests are addressed.

Special Events

In the Spring we often have a Fashion Show and we may hold an Arts and Crafts Event at a Luncheon.

Annual General Meeting

The AGM is held in conjunction with the May luncheon at which time the new executive is introduced.
